FERRIDAY — Services for Elma Posey Hardy, 83, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at Columns Nursing Home in Jonesville, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. George Guy and the Rev. Clyde Grammon officiating.

Burial will follow at Andrews Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mrs. Hardy was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Monroe, La., the daughter of Bunion Howard Posey and Mae Posey Beltz. She was Pentecostal.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert John Hardy; her parents; two daughters, Debra Ann Hardy and Mary Sue Patrick; and two brothers, Milton Posey and Howard Posey.

Survivors include one daughter, Robbie Hawkins and Joe Canal of Jonesville; one son, Robert John “Johnny” Hardy Jr. and wife, Ann, of Vidalia; one brother, Kenneth Posey and wife, Carolyn, of Trout, La.; one sister, Myrtle S. Burgess of Leesville, La.; six grandchildren, Joey Hawkins, Steven Hawkins, Keri Arnold, Brian Patrick, Jennifer Beamer and Robert John Hardy III; 13 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ben Hawkins, Brian Patrick, Cade Posey, Joey Hawkins, Ken Posey, Robert Hardy III and Steven Hawkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chandler Arnold, Dwayne Stephen, J.C. Hawkins, Jimmy Hudnall, Kerry Patrick and Roger Book.
