VIDALIA — Services for Edith Terrett McClain Ball, 95, of Vidalia, who went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Vidalia with the Rev. Bill McCullin officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ball was a native of Terry and lived in Vidalia since 1941. She was self-employed for a number of years as a representative for Stanley Home Products and was affectionately known as “the Stanley lady” in the community.

Mrs. Ball was a member of First Baptist Church of Vidalia since April 23, 1945, and was a member of the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class and a person who loved her church family. She loved roses, gardening and was an avid outdoors person.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and La Pearl George McClain; her husband of more than 50 years, William Drew Ball; one brother, Wesley McClain; and one sister, Louise McLemore.

Survivors include her twin daughters, Janet Hester of Vidalia and Annette Galloway and husband, Murphy, of Diamondhead; one brother, George McClain and wife, Nett, of Vidalia; three sisters, Thelma Pirkle, Sarah Edgin, both of Natchez, and Mabel Campbell of Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren, Edie Myatt and husband, Norris, of Woodland, Walter “Buddy” Hester III and special friend, Virginia, both of Sarasota, Fla., Pamela Taylor and husband, Alan, Georgette McClain, and Lee McClain and wife, Tara, all of Vidalia, Douglas Galloway and wife, Donna, of Long Beach and Julie Wright and husband, James, of Madison; 15 great-grandchildren, Neal Myatt, Andrew Myatt, Auzie Myatt, Walter “Mac” Hester IV , Corbin Taylor, Ashton Taylor, Christian McBeth, Kelby Galloway, Kylee Galloway, Madison Wright, Liam Wright, Jonathan Thorpe, Tyler McClain, Carlee McClain and Paige Bolyer; and one great-great-grandchild, Kaley Myatt.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Thorpe, Lee McClain, Walter Hester, Doug Galloway, Drew Myatt and Burlyn McLemore.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Vidalia Building Fund or Batson Hospital, Jackson, in honor of Walter “Mac” Hester IV.
