WOODVILLE — Funeral services for Walter Thompson “Scotty” Scott Jr., 82, of Woodville, who died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Edwin Temple officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Scott was born Oct. 26, 1928, in Doloraso, the son of Walter Thompson Scott Sr. and Mary Jane Dawson Scott.

He was a Mason and a Shriner and had several leadership positions in Masonic Harmony Lodge No. 1, including worshipful master in 1986, high priest in 1987, lustrous council master in 1988, commander in 1989 and served as president of the Natchez Shrine Club in 1985.

Mr. Scott served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marie Frank Scott.

Survivors include one son, Larry Scott and wife Sue of Vidalia; four daughters, Karen Mayers and husband Ronnie of Cleveland, Linda Scott of St. Clair, Mo., Sue Clark and husband Russel of Natchez and Patricia Gousset of Grand Junction, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one sister, Sherry S. Johnson of Doloraso.

Pallbearers will be Geoffrey Roberts, Scotty Roberts, Austin Whitehead, Ronnie Mayers, Lonnie Lipe and Walter Pearson.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of the Masons of Harmony Lodge No. 1 and all other local lodges.

The family would like to extend special thanks to his caregivers, Hattie Roberson, Alama and Bobbie Braley and Dr. Kenneth Stubbs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital, 3100 Samford Ave., Shreveport, LA 71103.
