NATCHEZ — Services for “Shorty” Gwin, 73, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at Promise Hospital after a long illness, will be at 11:30 a.m., Monday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Natchez.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. until services begin at the church.
Gwin was born Aug. 11, 1937, in Natchez, the daughter of William and Edith Cauthen. She retired in 2009 from Natchez Community Hospital after serving 19 years as the receptionist.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Billy Cauthen; and her sisters, Sue Little and Betty Jo Ferrill.
Survivors include her devoted children, Lucien C. “Sam” Gwin III and wife Cindy of Natchez, Anne T. Gwin and husband Robert Brown of Baton Rouge, Kenan Shotwell “Shot” Gwin and wife Becky of Natchez and Adam Trudell Gwin of Natchez; grandchildren, Lucien C. Gwin IV, and wife Amanda, Margaret Jane Gwin, Scott Grayson Gwin, Lindsey Anne Gwin, Rainne Ikonomidis and Jared McPhate; great- grandchildren, Allison Elizabeth Wiley, Locke Noble Petite, Rivers Lee and Gracie Harrigill.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Adams County Humane Society.
The family extends their appreciation to all the health care providers at Natchez Community Hospital, Promise Hospital and Crown Health and Rehabilitation.
