ACME, La. — Services for Willard David Sr., 94, of Acme, who died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. today at Acme Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Gass and the Rev. John Cooper officiating.

Burial will follow at Acme Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

David was born on March 11, 1916, in Enterprise, La., the son of Fred David and Mable David Crews.

He was a retired postmaster, a farmer and an active member of Acme Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his wife, Julia Dale David.

Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Hughes and husband Lonnie of Acme; two sons, Willard David Jr., and Michael David and wife Linda, all of Acme; five grandchildren, Felicia Dale, Susan Paul, Beth Hughes, John Hughes and Hannah David; five great-grandchildren, Rory Dale, Christopher Dale, Logan Dale, Alhana Hughes and Maranda Paul; and two great-great grandchildren Mason Dale and Emma Dale.

Pallbearers will be John Hughes, Lane Dale, Linnie Hughes, Phillip Paul, Rory Dale and Tim Charrier.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chrisopher Dale, Dale Brownell, Maurice Brownell and Ray Routon.
