PORT GIBSON — Services for Frances Traylor Noble, 88, of Lorman, who died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at her residence at Melton Plantation, will be at 2 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church in Port Gibson.

A graveside service will follow at the Fayette Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Noble was born Feb. 27, 1922, in Crystal Springs. She was a graduate of Mississippi State College for Women. She was an avid golfer, a Mississippi State Flower Show judge, a master gardener and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joe Whitfield Noble.

Survivors include two sons, John W. Noble and wife, Sarah, of Port Gibson and Steve T. Noble of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Ann Elise Phillips and husband, John, of Holly Bluff and Susan Jones and husband, Robin, of Washington, D.C.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Bo Ball, Ed Noble, Randy Noble, Richard Noble and Sam Fonda.

Honorary pallbearers will be Perc McCaa and the board of directors of Southwest Electric Power Association.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
