NATCHEZ—Services for Dolphas Devoy “DD” Boyd, 75, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011 at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will at 10 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Baptist Church in Natchez with Dr. Roy Tidwell officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Mr. Boyd was born June 14, 1935 in Hollandale, Ms., the son of George and Eran Elizabeth Boyd. He retired from the Diamond Shop in 1991, and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 52 years, JoAnn Boyd of Natchez; two sons, Bill Boyd of Natchez and Daniel Boyd and wife, Denise of Vidalia; one daughter, Liz Johnson of Natchez; five grandchildren, Tyler Boyd, Hannah Boyd, Mia Johnson, Hunter Boyd and Andrew Boyd; one great grandchild, Jacob Bentley Knoll; two brothers, Elwin Boyd and wife, Ann of Bay Springs, Ms., and Thomas Boyd and wife, Mary of Phoenix; one sister, Georgia Read of Bay Springs, Ms.; and many others who were like family.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Knoll Jr., Tyler Boyd, Buddy Brown, Tapper Hendricks, Glenn Allen, Jeremy Taylor and Ethan Foster.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Boyd and Andrew Boyd.
