NATCHEZ — Services for Rosie L. Chatman, 83, of Natchez, who died Tuesday Jan. 4,

2011, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Natchez with the Rev. Earnest Ford Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home Chapel and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Mrs. Chatman was born Feb. 7, 1927, in Selma, the daughter of Phil Thomas and Susie Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jeff Chatman; four children, Louis T. Chatman, Emma L. Chatman, Richard Chatman and Jean Chatman; and four brothers, Luther Thomas, Joseph Thomas, George Thomas and Louis Thomas.

Survivors include four daughters, Gladys Stewart of Lithonia, Ga., Bobby J. Johnson and husband, Walter, Rose Robinson and husband, Ronnie and Diane Chatman, all of Natchez; and five sons, Leon Thomas and wife, Doris, Willie Smith and wife, Carolyn, Jeffery Chatman and wife, Carrie, of Bossier, Leroy Chatman and wife, Verlene and Jessie Chatman and wife, Irma Jean, of Chicago.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Chatman’s grandsons.
