EVA, La. — Services for Carol McKey, 73, of Monterey, who died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, in Eva, La., will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Eva Church of God with Bro. Loyd Trisler, Bro. Junior Trisler, Bro. Kevin Sims and Bro. Joe Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow at Lick Skillet Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.

Mrs. McKey was born Jan. 4, 1938, in Ferriday, the daughter of Issac Storey Crouch and Maggie Thompson Crouch. She was a lifelong resident of Eva and was a member of Eva Church of God.

Mrs. McKey was a master gardener, it was a labor of love for her. She would work year round preparing the ground or harvesting her vegetables. If she was not in her garden she would be running the roads with her sister, Nita.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil “Pete” McKey; her parents; one sister, Mable Ratcliff; and four brothers, Eugene Crouch, Herbert Crouch, Rodney Crouch and Amos Crouch.

Survivors include one son, Johnny McKey and wife, Glenda, of Monterey; one daughter, Connie Mulvihill and husband, Adam, of Pineville, La.; four grandsons, Kirk Ford, Daniel Mulvihill, Aaron Mulvihill and Hobbs Brown; one granddaughter, Crystal Brigman; six great-grandchildren, Randi Claire Mulvihill, little Kirk Ford, Heather Ford, Drew McCartney, Calon McCartney and Brooke Brigman; and two sisters, Anita Poole and Aline White.

Pallbearers will be Billy Ratcliff, Dave Fancher, Eddie Poole, James Miller Crouch, James White and Ray Routon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kyler McNeely, Tommy Millican, Charles Gray and Gayle Simonton.
