JONESVILLE — Services for John Wesley “JW” Walker, 78, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Moss Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Mays officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Walker was born Sept. 13, 1932, in Monterey, the son of Nathan and Martha Stevenson Walker.

Survivors include three brothers, James Lewis of Dallas, Richard Walker of Winnsboro, La., and Charles Walker and wife, Carol, of Pontiac, Mich.; nine sisters, Margie Lewis of Ferriday, Yvonne Johnson, Cherry Carter, Lynn Carter and husband, James, Gloria Baccanna and husband, Calvin, and Ruby Carter, all of Pontiac, Lisa D. Walton of Atlanta, Georgia Sinclair and Jessie Mae Sinclair, both of Little Rock, Ark.; two aunts, Cindy Rose of Yakima, Wash., and Odessa Stevenson of Ferriday; special niece, Joyce Leonard; special nephew, Jerry Lewis, both of Ferriday; special cousin, Leo Stevenson Jr. of Seattle, Wash.; and his companion, Betty Wade of Ferriday.
