NATCHEZ — Services for evangelist Annie Lee Johnson, 76, of Bude, who died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Milford Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Louis Jackson officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Johnson was born May 28, 1934, in Winona, the daughter of John Ed Flowers and Leerenda Pittman Flowers. She was employed by Hart, Shaffner and Marx clothing factory as a seamstress.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church in Bude and was associated with the Bethlehem Healing Temple in Chicago. She was a Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher, church secretary, wedding coordinator and broadcast announcer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, J.W. Flowers, John Wesley Flowers, J.D. Flowers and Lorenzo Flowers; and three sisters, Susie Woods, Clara Jennings and Linnie Young.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Willie Johnson; one daughter, Sandra Ellis; three grandsons, Ermon Rice, Donald Ellis Jr. and Jervaughn Ellis; two great-grandchildren, Brionne and JaLyrique Rice, all of Natchez; one sister, Mary Hill and husband, Willie, of Chicago; one goddaughter, Paulette Jordon; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
