WOODVILLE — Services for Shelton Glenn Smith, 67, of Woodville, who died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at Natchez Community Hospital, were 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at Newman Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with the Rev. Bernard Waites and the Rev. Pat Smith officiating.

Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Newman Funeral Home in Woodville

Mr. Smith was born June 9, 1943, in Centreville, the son of Doris Pierce Smith and Floyd “Abner” Smith Jr. and Ida Mae “Hickey” Smith. He was owner and operator of South of the Border Restaurant.

Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Nyma Cunningham Smith; two sons, David Abner Smith and Charles Lesley Smith and wife, Mystic Carter Smith, all of Woodville; two sisters, Belinda Smith Ogronick and husband, John, of Cleburne, Texas and Alyce Smith and daughter, Jennifer Hale, both of Natchez; three brothers, Sammy Smith and wife, Judy, of Hattiesburg, Johnny Smith and wife, June, of Cleveland, Tenn., and Mike Smith and wife, Nancy, of Columbia; and three grandchildren, Charles Thomas Smith, William Brady Smith and David Carter Smith, all of Woodville.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Rowe, Jessie Stewart, Keith Smith, Andy Partridge, Charles McGraw, Mike Vannoy, David R. Smith, Lee Dixon and Trey Spinks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sidney Ashley, D.D. Sumrall, Thomas Carter, James Forman, Eugene Martin, Robert Lewis, M.D., Charlie Gilliam, Jerry Keith Foster, Paul Habig, Donny Smith and Jimmy Ray Reese.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wilkinson County Christian Academy in Woodville.
