Man dies in U.S. 61 wreck

NATCHEZ — An elderly Centreville man was killed and his wife critically injured in a single-car accident on U.S. 61 South Thursday morning.
James H. Fry, 72, was driving a Toyota Corolla when he reportedly ran off the left side of the highway near Lower Woodville Road at 9:26 a.m., a Mississippi Highway Patrol release said.
The car was headed north before it ran into the median and rolled several times, the release said.
Adams County Coroner James Lee pronounced Fry, who was wearing a seat belt, dead at the scene.
The wife of the deceased, Daisy W. Fry, who rode in the passenger side of the car, was transported to Natchez Regional Medical Center and then to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for severe injuries. She was also wearing a seat belt.
Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the accident.
