VIDALIA — Services for Bertha Lucille Thames, 90, of Vidalia, who died Friday, March 11, 2011, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, with Bro. Bill McCullin officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia, and from 9 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.

Ms. Thames was born on April 30, 1920, in Wisner, the daughter of Napoleon Taylor and Jane Byrnes Gilmore.

She was a resident of Vidalia, a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Vidalia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Thames and her parents.

Survivors include a son, Bubba Hugh Thames and his wife Carolyn of Natchez; two daughters Karen Kay Watson of Vidalia and Kim Taylor Weatherford and her husband Stephen of Baton Rouge; one sister, Edith Holley of Slidell; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chris Thames, Dean Coldiron, Joe Dominguez, John Cowan, Stephen Weatherford and Terry Thames.
