NATCHEZ — Services for Dinah W. Ealey, 84, of Sibley, who died Monday, March 14, 2011, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rehoboth Church of God in Christ with the Rev. Elijah Lewis Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.
Mrs. Ealey was born May 27, 1926, in Sibley, the daughter of Will Washington Sr. and Alice Rounds Washington. She was employed by Alcorn State University Home Economy Extension Services. She was retired.
Mrs. Ealey was a lifelong member of Rehoboth Church of God in Christ and served as a mother of the church. She organized the Town and Country Homemakers Club, was a member of Sibley Homemakers Club, the 4-H Go Getters Club and the Universal Home Support Lodge No. 1.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Ealey; one son, Marion Kenneth Ealey; three sisters, Virginia Reynolds, St. Arby Thompson and Naomi Daily; and one godson, James Washington.
Survivors include two daughters, Allena Foules and husband, Lawrence, of Greenville and Debbie Ealey Sullivan of Sibley; four sons, Edward Ealey and wife, Mildred, of Natchez, Carl Ealey Sr. and wife, Shirley, of DeSoto, Texas, Alvin Ealey and Melvin Ealey and wife, Vanessa, all of Sibley; special niece, Gwendolyn Vanderson of Natchez; 13 grandchildren, two of which she reared as her own, Erica Ealey and Kenneth Cedric Ealey; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Pettis and Bertha Green, both of Natchez, and Dorothy Thompson of Sibley; three brothers, Chester Washington of Sibley, Will Washington Jr. and wife, Shirley, of Vidalia and Elijah Washington and wife, Lucinda, of Chicago; four sisters-in-law, Mary Louise Passmore and husband, Theodore, of Huntsville, Ala., Bobbie Ann Edwards and husband, Willie, of Tacoma, Wash., Edna Howard and husband, Elvis, of Memphis, Tenn., and Rosie Stewart of Natchez; and five brothers-in-law, David Ealey III of Port Hudson, La., Y.Z. Ealey and wife, Sarah, and Joseph Thompson, all of Natchez, Theodiis Ealey and wife, Linda, of Stone Mountain, Ga., and James Thompson of Sibley.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be sons and sons-in-law.
