NATCHEZ — Services for Lee Andrew Woods, 69, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at noon today at Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Sago officiating.

Burial will follow at Free Spring Cemetery in Doloroso under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Woods was born Oct. 7, 1941, in Woodville, the son of George Netterville and Matiel Sewell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Florestine Wilson Woods; and three brothers, Willie Lee Holmes, Joseph Richardson and Solomon “Nick” Woods.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of four years, Velvet Woods; two sons, Lee Andy Woods Jr. and wife, Yaminha, of Mesquite, Texas and Charles Nix Jr. of Clayton; five daughters, Renee Woods and husband, Clarence, Mildred Jean Wilson and Tracy Rounds, all of Natchez, Mattie Nix and husband, Kelvin, of Ferriday and Melinda Thompson of Vidalia; one brother, Leroy Holmes of Natchez; three sisters, Augustine Bateaste of Natchez, Mary Louise Knight and Agnus Holmes, both of Doloroso; mother-in-law, Viola Nelson of Clayton; seven brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
