NATCHEZ — Services for Carolyn Taylor, 67, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at the Woodridge Nursing Facility in Grapevine, Texas, will be at 3 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Cathy Newman officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Carolyn was born June 27, 1943, in Natchez, the daughter of Willis Lofton and Helen Louise Irby Lofton. She was Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Donald Lofton.

Survivors include one son, Jeff Taylor and wife, Karen, of Geismar, La.; one daughter, Michelle Shamblin and husband, Kevin, of Flower Mound, Texas; five grandchildren, Kelly Orgeron, Hunter Taylor, Sarah Taylor, Brian Shamblin and Cami Shamblin; two sisters, Betty Gail Freeman and Barbara “Bobbie” Merritt and husband, Robert, all of Natchez; one sister-in-law, Karen Lofton of Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Robert Merritt, Patrick Farmer, Roy Farmer, Billy Ray Farmer, Kelly Orgeron and Brian Shamblin.
