NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Valda Doughty Wilson, 92, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Varnado officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wilson was born June 17, 1919, in Glade, La., just south of Jonesville in Catahoula Parish, daughter of James Everett and Ruth Renfrow Doughty. She was a secretary for the Concordia Electric Cooperative and an active member of Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, T. Milt Wilson; her parents; and one brother, Leroy Doughty.
Survivors include one daughter, Kaaren Clifton and husband, Bill, of Ferriday; one son, Thom Wilson and Laurie A. White, both of New Orleans; five grandchildren, Will Clifton and wife, Miranda, Kate Neal and husband, Gary, Doughty Varnedo and husband, Scott, Courtney Wilson and Ashley Mullins and husband, David; six great-grandchildren, Parker, Gray, Sarah, Christian, Milt and Jace; one sister, Gladys Mahoney and husband, Vic, of Ridgecrest; and special friend, Lillian Scott.
Pallbearers will be Will Clifton, Gary Neal, Jimmy Hutchinson, Kelly Hutchinson, David Mullens and Christian Loiselle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Lowery and Vic Mahoney.
