NATCHEZ — Services for Rita Ann Collier, 57, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. today at Riverside Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Stancel officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Collier was born June 10, 1954, in Columbia, the daughter of Leslie Alford Stampley and Marquittie Sauls Stampley. She was a 1973 graduate of South Natchez High School and a 1990 graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College. She was a member of Phi Dat Kappa and Who’s Who Among American Students.

Mrs. Collier was a 1992 graduate of Hinds Community College with a degree in nursing. She was a registered nurse for more than 20 years.

Rita was a caring person that always put other people ahead of herself. She was loved by all and will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Charlie A. Stampley; and twin nephews, Samuel Stampley and Daniel Stampley.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Collier; one son, Trinity Scott of Natchez; one daughter, Natasha Dunnan and husband, Byron, of Natchez; one stepson, Michael O. Scott of Alabama; two granddaughters, Caelan Scott of Natchez and Jordan Scott of Alabama; two step-grandsons, Ethan Scott and Josh Scott, both of Alabama; one sister, Shirley Scott and husband, John, of Natchez; three brothers, Paul Stampley of Natchez, Randy Stampley of Clinton and Earl Stampley of Richland; one sister-in-law, Sandra Stampley of Natchez; and a number of close and dear cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Pallbearers will be Eric Stampley, Billy Wayne Pace Jr., Gail Scott, Mark Morace, Gary Donaldson and Joey Johannson.
