NATCHEZ — Services for Pauline Cassandra Netterville Emanuel, 82, of Natchez, who died Monday, July 25, 2011, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alan Kolodny officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Emanuel was born Oct. 17, 1928, in Natchez, the daughter of Paul B. Netterville and Ethel Cobb Netterville. She was the owner of Anna’s Store in Anna’s Bottom from 1974 to 1984 and Polly Anna’s from 1986 to 2002.

Mrs. Emanuel was a member of New Beginnings Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Melvin Leo Hampton; her second husband, W.D. “Bill” Shields; and her third husband, Albert Eugene “Gene” Emanuel.

Survivors include two sons, Ken Hampton and wife, Linda, and Marvin Hampton and wife, Gail; one daughter, Mary Shields Berry and husband, John; two stepdaughters, Reneé Emanuel Berry and husband, Kevin, and Kathy Emanuel Young and husband, Tommy; one stepson, Richard Emanuel and wife, Juanita; special friend, Leda Moore; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Russell Handjis, Shannon Handjis, John Gillespie, Spanky Felter, Tim Johnson and Alan Wadsworth.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Handjis and Roy Stephenson.

The family extends thanks to Ann Cobb and Hospice Compassus.
