HAMBURG — Services for Veronica Shantae Nickelson, 26, of Natchez, who died Monday, July 25, 2011, at University Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Curtis Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Sunday at the church.

Veronica was born Aug. 20, 1984, in Fayette, the daughter of Willie Herrington Jr. and Pricilla Smith. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and attended Natchez High School.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willie Herrington Sr. and Louisa Nickelson; two aunts, Rosie Lee Herrington and Shirley Herrington; and one uncle, Lloyd Herrington.

Survivors include her loving mother and stepfather, Willie Smith; her father; two sisters, Dorothy Jackson and husband, Craig, and Brenda Nickelson and husband, Eric; one brother, Tony Nickelson and wife, Felica; two special aunts, Vivian Hall and husband, Steve, and Debra Wilson and husband, Jerry; five aunts, Lilly Thomas and husband, Cliff, Mary Nickelson and husband, Mickey, Sandra Rodgers and husband, Eddie, Leola Herrington and Betty Herrington; eight uncles, Nathan Nickelson, Albert Nickelson and wife, Helen, Herbert Nickelson and wife, Juanita, Arthur Nickelson and wife, Evonne, LeRoy Smith and wife, Hattie, Floyd Herrington, Benard Herrington and James Herrington; two godbrothers, Jeremany Washington and Ja’Kylon Duck; godfather, Thomas Floyd; a special nurse, Shelia Washington; two special friends, Lionel Stephler and Carl Washington; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Clifton Thomas, Jeremany Washington, Jared Nickelson, Eddie Rodgers, Larry Hall and Craig Jackson.

A benefit fund has been set up at Regions Bank for the Ms. Nickelson.
