FERRIDAY — A man injured in a Tuesday car accident in Concordia Parish has died from his injuries.

Robert A. Armstrong, 54, of Ridgecrest was transported to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport following the accident. He died there, according to a Louisiana State Police press release.

State Police responded to the scene of the crash at approximately 6 p.m. Tuesday. A 2002 Dodge pickup, driven by Alicia H. Armstrong, 53, of Ridgecrest, and a 1997 Freightliner, driven by Billy R. Weatherspoon, 54 of Ferriday, collided in the southbound lane of Louisiana 15.

The Freightliner had exited a private driveway when the Dodge hit it’s rear, the press release said.

Robert Armstrong was a passenger in the Dodge and was not wearing a seat belt.

Alicia H. Armstrong received minor injuries and was transported to Riverland Hospital.

Weatherspoon was not injured.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
