WOODVILLE — Services for John Turnbull Shepherd, 61, of Woodville, who died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at Carpenter’s House Hospice Facility in Baton Rouge, will be at noon Saturday at King Emanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Earnest James officiating.
Services are under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Woodville.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Shepherd was born Jan. 16, 1950, in Wilkinson County, the son of Berthol Shepherd and Rosie Minor.
He was a retired operation specialist with Chevron USA and a member of St. John Baptist Church No. 2.
Mr. Shepherd was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carroll Shepherd; one brother, Samuel Booker Shepherd; and grandparents.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Shepherd of Woodville; two sons, John T. Shepherd Jr. of New Orleans ad Jason Shepherd and wife, Crystal, of Atlanta; one step son, Fred Stewart and wife, Celyntha, of Zachary, La.; one daughter, Andrea Rose Shepherd of New Orleans; one step daughter, Lekisha Chambers and husband, Cedric, of Woodville; one brother, Benjamin Shepherd and wife, Ann Marie, of Carbondale, Ill.; one sister, Connie McClendon and husband, Eddie, of Atlanta; one aunt, Beatrice Minor of Woodville; 10 grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Willie Hubert, Mack Slan, Matthew Slan, Horace Earls, Wilbert Hawkins, Jaush Selvage, Benjamin Tiger Shepherd and Eric Jennings.
