NATCHEZ — Servies for Mattie Louise Butler, 80, of Natchez, who died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Southwood Lodge Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Butler was born Aug. 15, 1931, in Natchez, the daughter of Jerry and Mary Strauder Bates.

Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adolph Butler; one daughter, Mary Louise Bates; and one sister, Rosemary Bates.

Survivors include four daughters, Geri Henderson and husband, James, Dorothy Young and husband, Ernest, Evelyn Jackson and husband, Ray, and Debra Price and husband, Jimmy; four sons, Walter Bates and wife, Brenda, Charles Bates and wife, Patrice, Donald Bates and wife, Diane, and Robert Bates and fiancee, Connie; 23 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
