MEADVILLE — Services for John Earl Huffman, 72, of Meadville, who died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at King’s Daughter Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. today at Siloam Baptist Church in Meadville.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. Huffman was born June 1, 1939, in Attala County, the son of Giles and Gladys Huffman.
He served in the U.S. Navy for 25 years and was employed by Franklin County Public School System for 14 years.
Mr. Huffman was a member of Ackerman Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post 40, the Military Retired Enlisted Association, the Fleet Reserve Association, U.S.S. Orion Veterans Organization and was a member of Siloam Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Wydell Maxine Philliy Huffman; and one granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Rae McFadden Huffman; one daughter, Deborah Jarrett and husband, Luther, of Kosciusko; four sons, Robert A. Huffman and wife, Mary Jo, of Meridian, Kenneth Earl Huffman and wife, Anne, George Giles Huffman and Matthew Brice Huffman, all of Meadville; two granddaughters; seven grandsons; two sisters; five brothers; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family requests memorials be made to the Navy Relief Society or Baptist Children’s Village.
