Gerald and Louise Combs of Roxie announce the engagement of their daughter, Debi Layle Combs to Melvin Dean Walker, son of Lynette Smith of Brookhaven and the late Melvin R. Walker of Brookhaven.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Franklin County High School in Meadville and is a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson.

She is employed by Brookhaven OBGYN Associates, P.A. in Brookhaven.

She is the granddaughter of the late Joe and Eugenia Combs of Roxie and the late Wesley and Helen Halford of Meadville.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Topeka-Tilton High School in Jayess and is also a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson.

He is employed by Legacy Toyota in Brookhaven.

He is the grandson of the late Willie and Irene Walker and Eloyes Bessonette and the late Ross Lambert, all of Brookhaven.

The wedding will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at Roxie Baptist Church. A reception will follow at the church’s Family Life Center.
