A crane lifted two air-conditioner units and 14 sections of railing for the house’s widow’s walk. The railings, which were repaired and repainted by park service employees, and the compressors were originally taken down in order for a new roof to be installed. The balustrade sections will be reinstalled this week, hopefully for at least another 150 years.
