WOODVILLE — Services for Edward Douglas Anthony Sr., 88, of Woodville, who died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at King Emanuel Baptist Church in Woodville with the Rev. Dwyane Anthony officiating.

Burial will follow at Bunker Hill Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Woodville.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Anthony was born June 24, 1923, in Woodville, the son of James Anthony Sr. and Eva Jackson. He worked as a laborer for the Mississippi Department of Transportation.

Mr. Anthony was also a member of King Emanuel Baptist Church and served as an usher and church secretary. He was a member of the NAACP, Fort Adams Fire Department and the Voters League.

He was preceded in death by one son, Tony J. Anthony; eight brothers; and his father-in-law.

Survivors include his wife, Sedonia L. Anthony; three sons, Edward Jr. and wife, Dorothy, Fidal and wife, Mary, and Juan Anthony Sr.; an honorary son, Thomas Tolliver and wife, Myrtis, all of Woodville; four daughters, Kay Thomas and husband, James, of Baker, La., Floristine Turner and husband, Leonard, Eva Boudraux and husband, Joseph, and Rhonda Clark and husband, David, all of Woodville; one brother, Arthur Anthony of New Orleans; three sisters, Beatrice Robinson and Gloria Green, both of New Orleans and Norvell Price of Haywood, Calif.; one aunt, Margaret Anthony; mother-in-law, Ella V. Lane of Woodville; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four godchildren; one godsister; one godbrother; five brothers-in-law; 12 sisters-in-law; and a number of other relatives and friends.
