OAKDALE, La. — Services for Camille DeMarco Anders, 95, of Oakdale, La., who died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2011, at Marigold House in Alexandria, La., were Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at First United Methodist Church of Oakdale with the Rev. Mark Strickland officiating.

Burial followed at Oakdale Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home in Oakdale.

Mrs. Anders was a member of First United Methodist Church of Oakdale. She was a former member of Oakdale Garden Club and the United Methodist Women’s Club. She spent most of her life in New Orleans. After retirement she and her husband moved to Oakdale in the early 80s, where they fell in love with the small town friendliness. She loved her family and her chihuahuas.

Mrs. Anders was preceded in death by her husband, Smiley Gray Anders Sr.; one brother, Prospero Louis DeMarco; and one great-grandchild, Landon Maher.

Survivors include two sons, Smiley Gray Anders Jr. and wife, Katherine, of Baton Rouge and Louis James Anders and wife, Jane, of Oakdale; one sister, Mollie Gallagher of Natchez; five grandchildren, Tammy Anders Smith and husband, Boyce, and Thomas Gray Anders and wife, Nicole, all of Zachary, La., Dr. Judd Emery Anders and wife, Stacy, of Reno, Nev., Jason Ross Anders and wife, Marian, of Metairie, La., and Josh Crawford Anders and wife, Melissa, of Houston, Texas; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and three nephews.

Pallbearers were Josh Anders, Jason Anders, Thomas Anders, Dr. Judd Anders, Boyce Smith, Joe Crawford and Jeff Crawford.

Honorary pallbearers were Arlie Wilkerson, James Luedecke, Bill Hargrove, Leland Sanderson, Dr. Joe Soileau and John Crawford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Oakdale, 309 E. 6th Ave., Oakdale, LA 71463.
