WOODVILLE — Services for David Lindsay McCraine, 81, of Woodville, who died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at Field Memorial Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Woodville United Methodist Church Dr. Ray Branch and Dr. Will Dowling officiating.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. McCraine was born Feb. 27, 1930, the son of John David McCraine and Gladys Stuart McCraine.
He was a cattle farmer and served in the United States Army. He was a member of Woodville United Methodist Church where he was a long time Sunday School teacher and superintendent. Mr. McCraine was also a long time member of Wilkinson County Cattleman Association and Forestry Association and past member of the Board of Director of Federal Land Bank and Tri Parish CO OP.
Mr. McCraine was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Roundtree McCraine of Woodville; one daughter, Susan Campbell and husband, Jerrell, of Central, La.; two sons, Dave McCraine and wife, Kelly, of Lafayette, La. and John McCraine and wife, Danielle, of Beijing, China; nine grandchildren, Chris, Anna and Scott Campbell, of Central, La., Daniel McCraine of Chula Vista, Calif., Kyle and Will McCraine of Lafayette, Ally, Laura and Sasha McCraine of Beijing.
Pallbearers will be Chris Campbell, Scott Campbell, Nathan Gardner, Daniel McCraine, Charles Smith and Linndell Wyatt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. L.J. Owens, Charles Canova Jr., John Leake, Eli Whitaker, Cliff DuFour, Tobie J. Morris, T.O. Sessions Jr. and Robert Redhead Jr.
