Mary Frances Friis

MACON, Ga. — Memorial service for Mary Frances Friis, 81, who passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Hart’s Mortuary at the Cupola.
Mrs. Friis was the daughter of Allen Louis Stansbury and Frances Foster Stansbury. She was born in Pineora, Ga. and brought up in Natchez.
She spent her married life as a Navy wife traveling from the East Coast to Thailand returning to Macon, but continuing her joyful life raising her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Friis was preceded in death by one son, Robert Allen Friis.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Albert Anderson Friis of Macon; three daughters, Catherine Smith and husband, Allen, of Winston Salem, N.C., Cheryl Rozier and husband, Vic, of Smarr, Ga. and Lynn Ethridge and husband, Glen, of Atlanta; one son, Glenn Thomas of Jones County, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Sugie Friis of West Virginia; 10 grandchildren, Austin Connor Smith, Josh Rozier and wife, Heidi, Jonathan Rozier, Jamie Rozie and wife, Britney, Perry Thomas and wife, Jennifer, Lindsey Thomas Barfield and husband, Cody, Tammy Gazafy, April Ethridge, Kenny Webb and wife, Allison, and Jennifer Weldon and husband, Travis; one sister, Pat Stansbury of Macon; one brother, John Aitken of Chesapeake, Va.; and nine great-grandchildren.
