NATCHEZ — Morgantown Elementary has elicited the help of a few Painted Ladies to teach students about biology, habitats and even a little math.
About 650 Painted Lady butterflies were released Friday and Monday in the school’s new butterfly garden.
In partnership with Alcorn State University Agricultural Extension Office and with the help of Live Oak Nursery and the Mississippi State University entomology department, the school has transformed a leftover courtyard into a living laboratory.
