Try rhymes to beat holiday crimes

Twas weeks before Christmas and all through area
Not a creature was safe as criminals made it scarier;
The robbers were lurking, looking for a chance,
To grab something valuable and scurry off like ants.
Citizens were told to be watchful and wary,
Because becoming a victim is certainly not all that merry.
From dog food to purses, they’ll take what they find,
For they’re mostly opportunists, who will rob anyone blind.
Being safe and secure is not very hard,
Experts say it’s mostly be on constant guard.
Common sense is all you need to stay safe and sound,
Report anything suspicious you see go down.
Lock your doors and keep valuables out of plain sight,
Because thieves have eyes and they usually see at night.
Keep the porch lights burning and doors and windows locked,
It’s much better to be prepared than to taken by shock.
Be quick to call the law before reaching for guns and ammo,
Because it’s better to be cautious than shooting out your window.
We hope you enjoyed this light, but serious bit of noise,
Merry Christmas to all, and please go lock your doors.
