NATCHEZ — The Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce will honor the achievements of famous Natchezians at its annual membership gala Tuesday night.
Chamber President Debbie Hudson said the “Night Under the Stars” event will showcase Natchezians who have helped Natchez gain recognition with their past accomplishments and those who the chamber believes will carry Natchez into the future.
“I thought it was time we recognized where we have been, where we are and where we can be,” Hudson said.
Hudson said Natchez’s own Lynda Lee Mead Shea, Miss America 1960, will be in attendance at the gala.
The gala’s program will include a documentary titled “Natchez Grows Greatness” that will highlight the lives of famed Natchezians.

Donna Schaffer will sing at the gala, as well as Alvin Shelby with community singers. The event will also include a silent auction.
The cocktail hour will begin at 6 p.m. Dinner is at 6:45 p.m. and will be catered by area chefs. Gala goers are invited to stay for dancing after the awards ceremony.
