NATCHEZ — Services for Richard Wayne Thompson, 30, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Lafayette, La., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Len McRaney officiating.

Burial will follow at Jersey Settlers Cemetery in the Kingston community.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Thompson was born April 30, 1981, in Ferriday, the son of John Wayne Thompson and Ramoth “Ramee” Enlow Thompson. He was a 1999 Natchez High School graduate, a 2002 graduate of Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Okla. In 2003, Richard married his high school sweetheart, Revé Shelby.

Mr. Thompson was a cancer survivor since 2009. He was a great daddy and enjoyed playing with his two boys. He was a avid fisherman, jokester/prankster, enjoyed cooking, spending time with his family, loved the outdoors and was a hard worker.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Darwin S. Enlow Sr.; his maternal grandmother, Ruth McWilliams; his paternal grandparents, John H. Thompson and Bobbie Jean Thompson; and one brother, Tyler Scott Thompson.

Survivors include his wife, Revé Thompson; two sons, Scott and Drew Thompson; his parents; two brothers, Greg Thompson and wife, Meggie, and Jesse Thompson; mother-in-law, Renella Shelby; and one nephew, John Clifton Thompson.

Pallbearers will be Chris Watson, Conner House, Brandon Perkins, Clint McGarry, Chad Thomas, Troy Eliser, Lesley Drake and Clifford Lee Simpson Jr.
