Rev. Paul F. Barker

BATON ROUGE — Services for the Rev. Paul F. Barker, 82, of Baton Rouge, who died Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Maranatha Fellowship Church of God.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial gardens in Cleveland, Tenn.

Visitation will be today from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Monday at Resthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge and from noon until service time at the church.

Mr. Barker was a native of St. Joseph, Mo. He was a retired Church of God minister. He served in the Church of God denomination as a pastor, evangelist, state youth director and administrator bishop over three states for 67 years. Mr. Barker was also a member of Lee University Board of Directors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Grace Barker and three sisters, Laverne Barker, Laveda Skoge and Helen Barker.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Barker; three daughters Paulette Delaney and husband, Roney, Debbie Burdashaw and husband, Tim, and Beth Forbus and husband, Jason; six grandchildren Philip Anderson and wife, Alisha, John-Paul Burdashaw and wife, Allison, Kara Randolph and husband, Dustin, Becky Sue Burdashaw, Bethany Anderson, Lexie Forbus; four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Brianna, Kinsley and Jaxson to be born in spring of 2012 and one brother, Ralph Barker and wife, Grace.
