FERRIDAY — Services for Juan Talmadge “Joe” Morace, 83, of Pineville, La., who died Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, in Pineville, will be at 11 a.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Lloyd Trisler officiating.
Burial will follow at Dewey Cemetery, in New Era, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Morace was born Dec. 17, 1927, in Mayna, La., the son of Alfred Morace and Isabelle Morace. He was employed as a plumber for more than 50 years and managed Concordia Waterworks for 20 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge for more than 10 years.
Joe could fix or build anything. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and tinkering with anything broken.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clovis Morace; his parents; four brothers, Silton Morace, Otis Morace, Homer Morace and Julius Morace; two sisters, Lena Tobin and Marie Sasser; one grandson, Matthew Talmadge Cox; one granddaughter, Stacy Lasha Laborde; two nieces; and two nephews.
Survivors include one daughter, Ruth Ellen Cox of Pineville; one foster daughter, Dianne Ellis and husband, Rex, of China, Texas; three grandchildren, Michael Cox, Hannah Cox and Tommy Cox; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Reagen, Mia Nichols and Joleigh Nichols.
Pallbearers will be Bundy Morace, B.J. Morace, Larry Pruitt, Jimmy Pruitt Jr., Austin Hennessey and Josh Boone.
