VIDALIA — Services for JoAnn Strode Chafton, 70, of Vidalia, who died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at her residence, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Crosspoint Church.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Mrs. Chafton was born Aug. 23, 1941, in New Orleans, the daughter of James Chafton and Marion Hay.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her three daughters, Joyce Reeves and husband, Edward “Pedro,” Nora Halford and husband, Kenny Wayne, and Deborah Corkern; one son, John Aubrey Chafton and wife, Tammy; one sister, Susan Rhodes; one brother, Robert Painter; 10 grandchildren, Kimberly Labas, Rachel Reeves, Leigh Ann Kenny, James Kenny, Joseph Kenny, Ashley Spruell, Eva Corkern, Joel Shiers, Amber Shiers and Randy Chafton; two great-grandchildren, John Burton Labas II and Thomas Henry Labas; a faithful friend, Sharon Gordon; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
