Vidalia — A Natchez man has been arrested in connection with a December shooting in Vidalia.
Don E. Owens, 22, 72 Brennan Ave., was booked on charges of aggravated second-degree battery at the Vidalia Police station after he turned himself in Monday.
The shooting happened Dec. 11 at the corner of Gillespie and Maple streets, Vidalia Police Chief Arthur Lewis said.
According to witnesses, the suspect allegedly fired several shots — possibly five — into a group of people at that location, striking one male in the leg, Lewis said.
Owens was detained on a $30,000 bond Tuesday.
