SICILY ISLAND — Funeral services for Claudie Irene Goodwin, 76 of Lake St. John, who died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at her residence will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pine Hill Baptist Church in Sicily Island.

Burial will follow at New Pine Hill Cemetery, Sicily Island, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pine Hill Baptist Church.

Ms. Goodwin was born on July 11, 1935, in Sicily Island. She was raised in Catahoula Parish, but a resident of Concordia Parish for the past 13 years. She was a homemaker, an avid deer and turkey hunter and the devoted wife of a farmer, the late H.D. Goodwin. Claudie was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church in Sicily Island.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Weeks; two brothers, Leroy Weeks and James David Weeks and wife, Evelyn; three sisters, Lena Mae Peltier, Maxine Cain and husband, J.D. and Kathryn Weeks Barlow; one sister-in-law, Kathy Stark Weeks; one brother-in-law, W.H. Smith; one niece, Debbie Bingham Jones; and one nephew, George Barlow Jr.

Survivors include her three brothers, Johnnie Weeks and wife, Sue, of Dunbarton, Casey Weeks and wife, Sharon, of Sicily Island, and Grady Weeks and wife, Elaine, of St. Francisville; two sisters, Sylena Weeks Smith of Denham Springs, and Elva Weeks Golmon and husband, Jerry, of Shreveport; one sister-in-law, Lela Cain Weeks of Sicily Island; three step-grandchildren, Vanessa Reynolds, Kay Firth and Patrick Goodwin all of West Monroe; a number of nieces, nephews and friends; and special friend, her cat Callie.
