NATCHEZ — Services for Alphonse Buttross, 96, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Mary Basilica.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

The family of Alphonse Buttross Sr. extends a special thanks to Dr. Leslie England, Joy Kitchens and her family, Ronda Denmon, Shannon Mott, Willie Mae Proby, Thelma Noble, Lilly Williams, Margery Braswell, Carrie Albert, Trellis Johnson and Sherry Hartfield for their untiring care of Mr. Buttross along with Deaconess Home Health, Deaconess Hospice and Personal Homecare Services. We would also like to thank Sherry and Chuck Bearden, the Krewe of Phoenix, the Natchez Rotary Club and the Santa Claus Committee. Dad thoroughly enjoyed his involvement these organizations and those who spent time with him.
