NATCHEZ — Despite losing 4-3 in double overtime to Franklin County High School, the Cathedral High School girls secured a district championship Friday night.

Franklin County had to beat Cathedral by two goals in order to keep the Lady Green Wave from nabbing top honors in their district. With the one-point loss, the Lady Green Wave won their first district title in program history.

Maddy Christian had two goals for Cathedral, and Taylor White scored one goal. Franklin County’s Carlee Mullins led the Lady Bulldogs with two goals.

Cathedral improved to 12-3 on the season, 6-0 in district.
