GLOSTER — Services for Scottie Thompson, 60, of Gloster, who died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at University Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 1 p.m. today at Gloster First Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Thompson was born Jan. 18, 1952, in New Orleans, the son of Wesley Washington and Leola Thompson. He was a member of Gloster First Baptist where he served as deacon until his death.

He was preceded in death by his father; four brothers, Willie Thompson, Emmanuel Washington, Lionel Washington and Wesley Washington Jr.; and two sisters, Florastine Washington and Delores Washington Taylor.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Mae Lue Bell-Thompson; three daughters, Inez Bell Handy and husband, LeKeith Sr., Kimalar Robinson and MiKayla Thompson, all of Gloster; one son, Mikal Bell of Olla, La.; two stepsons, Allen Bell of Baton Rouge and Kenji Bell of Atlanta; four sisters, Levain Thompson Woodridge and husband, Arthur, of Jackson, La., Mary Thompson Miller of Clinton, La., Linda Thompson Henry and husband, David, of Wilson, La., and Barbara Washington Kauffman of Baker, La.; two brothers, Edward Thompson and Louis Thompson and wife, Linda; six grandchildren, LeKeith Handy Jr., Keegan Handy, Tyshouni McNeil, Tyran McNeil, Tyrique Bell and Junasia Bell; five sisters-in-law, Jane Martin, Sharlotte Andrew and husband, Babison, Carolyn Roundtree, Valerie Washington and Janice Washington; three brothers-in-law, Sammie Anderson and wife, Elizabeth, Johnny Bell and Everette Bell and wife, Gloria; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
