RED LICK — Services for Ulyses James Harris, 85, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at noon Saturday at East Mount Olive Baptist Church in Red Lick with the Rev. Robert L. Prater officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include four sons, Douglas Harris of Cincinnati, Reginald Harris of Vicksburg, Melvin Harris and wife, Lillian, and Paxton Harris, all of Fort Worth, Texas; three daughters, Cathy Prater and husband, Robert, of Woodville, Patricia Simmons and husband, Clarence, of Liberty and Alicia Southall and husband, Robert, of Chicago; eight children he reared as his own, Ophelia, Donald, Marva, Tasha, Donnie, Marquis, Stephanie and Rashana Harris; a special friend, Wade Harris; one brother, Abraham Harris Sr.; two sisters, Kazetter Watts of Red Lick and Elzena McGee of Chicago; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Harris of Mobile, Ala., and Hattie Lee Harris of Red Lick; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
