FERRIDAY — Services for Ira Wayne Sanford, 73, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Jerry Sharp officiating.

Burial will follow at Carlton Cemetery in Wildsville under the directions of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Sanford was born Aug. 7, 1938, in Williana, La. He worked in the oil field.

Mr. Sanford was preceded in death by his father, Ira Morris Sanford; his mother, Gertrude Sanford; one daughter, Misty Renee Sanford; and one brother, Clyde Sanford.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Sanford of Ferriday; two sons, Billy Sanford of Natchez and David Sanford of Fort Worth, Texas; three daughters, Glenda McVay and husband, Fred, of Monroe, Brenda Sanford and Donna Sanford, both of Vidalia; two sisters, Louise Evans of Jonesville and Katherine Reeves of Ferriday; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Sanford, Jerry Evans, Cody Higdon, Heath Higdon, Kyle Ensminger, Ronnie Cupstid and Billy Sanford.
