Myrtle Jackson

HAZLEHURST — Services for Myrtle F. Jackson, 88, of Brookhaven, who died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Brookmanor Nursing Home in Brookhaven, will be at 11 a.m. today at Stringer Family Chapel.

Burial will follow at Strong Hope Cemetery under the directions of Stringer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Ms. Jackson was a native of Amite County. She graduated high school in Amite County. She moved from Amite County to Natchez and lived there before moving back to Amite County and later to Copiah County during the 1990s.

Ms. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Grover Cleveland Jackson; her parents, John Henry and Ena Bradshaw; infant sister, Margarete Freeman; and her sisters and brothers, Edith Hayes, Otis Freeman, Rex Freeman and Vera Zeegler.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Wayne Jackson and wife, Rene, of Brookhaven and Grover Lynn Jackson and wife, Marcia, of Crystal Springs; two daughters, Henrietta Jackson Weisinger and husband, Bob, of Wesson and Janice Sumrall and husband, Horace, of Vidalia; two brothers, J.C. Freeman and wife, Jewel Pearl, of Magnolia and John Douglas Freeman of Adona, Ark.; two sisters, Bonnell Roberts of Luka and Ella Dee Zeegler and husband, J.A., of Magnolia; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
