Frank D’Antoni

NATCHEZ — Mass for Frank Dominic D’Antoni, 75, of Metairie, La., who died in the early morning hours Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Basilica.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Greenwood Funeral Home in New Orleans.
Mr. D’Antoni was a native of Natchez and lived in Metairie for more than 50 years with his wife, Tina Giani D’Antoni. They both were active members of St. Catherine of Siena Parish, belonging to a number of ministries throughout the years since 1961.
He was also a recipient of the Order of St. Louis medallion in recognition of his service to the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
Frank was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and an active fan of the Golden Eagles all his life. He was proud to have spent two years in active duty with the U.S. Navy followed by six years in the Navy Reserve. He retired from Pan American Life Insurance Company. After which, he helped Tina run her business, The Little Shop, Inc., Interior Design. In his spare time, he was an avid tennis player and member of City Park Tennis Club.
Frank was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam J. and Marie Giardina D’Antoni of Natchez.
In addition to his wife Tina, he is survived by three children, Frank D. D’Antoni Jr. of Hattiesburg, Stephen M. D’Antoni and wife, Susan, of Buckner, Ky., and Cara E. D’Antoni of Metairie; one brother, Sam J. D’Antoni Jr. and Marie D’Antoni Gross, both of Metairie; three grandchildren, Jacob Blesse, Cooper and Christian D’Antoni, all of Buckner, Ky.; and a number of beloved nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Due to the Lenten season, Masses are preferred in lieu of flowers, or donations to St. Mary Basilica’s new Family Life Center in Frank’s name.
