NATCHEZ — Services for Joseph John Albrycht, 73, of Natchez, who died Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2012, at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow in the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.
Mr. Albrycht was born Dec. 23, 1938, the son of John Albrycht and Sophie Wojtowicz Albrycht, in Three River, Mass. He grew up in Sandusky, Ohio, with one brother and four sisters, then joined the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Albrycht married and moved to Middletown, Ohio, and began working with Diamond International Paper Co. as a paper tech. After the birth of three children, Joe began working for North American Paper Co., where he stayed until he moved to Natchez. He was the vice president of purchasing at Mississippi River Pulp and a member of St. Mary Basilica.
Mr. Albrycht was an avid golfer and rollercoaster aficionado. He was a passionate supporter of Cathedral football and baseball. Mr. Albrycht enjoyed life and spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Albrycht was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his three children, Suzzi Albrycht, Shannon Hileman, both of Orlando, Fla., and Mike Albrycht, of Dayton, Ohio; one stepson, Braxton Fondren; four grandchildren, Arron Greene, Tia Albrycht, Devin Albrycht and Trevor Albrycht; one step grandchild, Tristan Fondren; one brother, Tom Albrycht; four sisters, Diane Boes, Barbara Couts, Rosalie Coleman and Ann Salvatore.
Pallbearers will be Mike Albrycht, Devin Albrycht, Tom Albrycht, Braxton Fondren, Ed Logan and Kelly Stevens.
Honorary pallbearers will be Braxton Hobdy, George Matthews, Carl Voss, John McGee, Hayden Kaiser and Shawn Logan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cathedral High School Athletic Department.
