NATCHEZ — Services for Edward G. Verucchi, 72, of Natchez, who died Monday, March 5, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Verucchi was born Aug. 22, 1939, in Natchez, the son of Rapheal Verucchi and Emma Stallone Verucchi. He was a lifelong resident of Natchez with brothers, Raphy Verucchi and William “Billy Boy” Verucchi and sister, Linda Marie McKinnon.
Mr. Verucchi served in the U.S. Army and upon his discharge, returned to Natchez where he joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 480. In later years, he was employed by Signature Works.
Mr. Verucchi was a member of St. Mary Basilica. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Verucchi.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Walker Verucchi; three sons, Robert Verucchi and wife, Jill, of Sterlington, La., Kenneth Verucchi and wife, Stephanie, of Brookhaven and Keith Verucchi and wife, Brooke, of Mendenhall; and six grandchildren, Stacy Verucchi Cook, Rachel Verucchi, Katherine Verucchi, Kylee Verucchi, Mary Lawrence Verucchi and Jordan Verucchi; and one great-grandson, Carter Cook.
Pallbearers will be Jack Norman, James Thomas, Johnny McKinnon, Scott McKinnon, Modie Mascagni and Michael Mascagni.
Honorary pallbearers will be IBEW Local 480, Signature Work co-workers, Homer Rushing, Walter Brown and Sammie Guercio.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary Family Life Center or the American Heart Association.
