NATCHEZ — The regularly scheduled meeting of the Natchez Mayor and Board of Aldermen was canceled Tuesday.

Mayor Jake Middleton said the meeting had to be rescheduled because the city clerk’s office was not able to complete its docket in time to be ratified for the meeting’s agenda. The aldermen normally approve the agenda for a meeting before it is advertised to the public.

The clerk’s office did not have time to complete its docket because the meeting had actually been pushed up from its regularly scheduled position on the calendar, Middleton said.

“Normally the docket doesn’t have to be ready for another week,” he said.

The meeting was rescheduled for the March 20. It had originally been moved forward from March 13 because some of the aldermen will be attending the National League of Cities meeting in Washington, D.C., at that time.

The aldermen will also have a regularly scheduled meeting March 27.
